BITCOPS Security Tools

Disclaimer and Responsible Use

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This page sets out the limits of what the tools and articles on this site can tell you, and the responsibilities that come with using them.

Educational purpose

Everything published here is for education and defensive security work. Explanations are written to help you understand a result, not to provide instructions for attacking systems. We deliberately do not publish exploit code or operational attack tooling.

You must be authorised

Some tools contact systems you nominate. Doing that against infrastructure you do not own and are not permitted to test can breach computer misuse laws, hosting agreements and employment policies, regardless of your intent and regardless of how harmless the check seems. Obtain written authorisation before you begin, and keep it. If you are practising, use a lab environment or a platform that exists for that purpose.

Accuracy is not guaranteed

Results reflect what a public service returned at one moment in time, from one network location. DNS answers vary by resolver and propagate gradually. Certificates and headers change. Scoring systems such as CVSS involve judgement, and reasonable analysts disagree. Treat every result as evidence to be interpreted, not as a verdict.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice, compliance certification, or a professional security assessment. A clean result from a tool here does not mean a system is secure, and an adverse result does not by itself mean it is vulnerable. For decisions that carry real risk, engage a qualified professional.

Do not submit sensitive data

Do not paste passwords, private keys, live session tokens, personal data belonging to other people, or confidential business information into any tool, here or anywhere else. Where a tool runs in your browser your input stays local, but building the habit matters more than the individual case.

External content

This site links to third-party resources and displays third-party advertising. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices.
